Are Hindu values have no meanings at all?
Due to the wide diversity in the beliefs, practices and traditions encompassed by Hinduism, there is no universally accepted definition on who a Hindu is, or even agreement on whether Hinduism represents a religious, cultural or socio-political entity. Unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one god; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion of creed. True Hindu Values derive from the Vedas and hence,those who follow what is enshrined in the Vedas are Hindus.Vedas do not mention of any one religion against any other,their concern is about the good of whole of creation including people of the globe,animals,plants,earth,air,water,fir… as they are connected/interlinked. No one alone could be happy if the world is not happy.Examples: Lokaha,samastaha sukhino bhavantu/let the beings of the universe be happy; yo vy bhooma tatsukham nalpe sukhamasti/those who think of the Big/Whole of creation alone will be happy, not the petty who think only of ‘me’ and ‘mine'(ajo njaha par veti). Hence,Hindu Values have rich meaning for all the people in the world.

Today although there is a lot of confusion among many foreign scholars as to what constitutes Hinduism and what does not, there is no confusion among the native Indians as to who a Hindu is. A Hindu may not be able to define correctly who a Hindu is, but in his heart he knows clearly whom he is talking about. Without recourse to any religious texts or scholarly analysis, he can instantly recognize and accept a fellow Hindu. The Hindus may come from different regions, speak different languages, belong to different economic and social strata, may oppose each other politically, may not even like each other personally due to ideological or ethical or ethnic reasons, but they do not fail to experience the bond of a religious tradition that is common to them.
