Are hindu muslim marriages very common in India?
They are uncommon, at least in India. I know of a very good friend of mine who is Hindu, who had an affair with a Muslim girl. The Muslim girl’s dad was an office with Indian Air Force and this guy was a Senior Consultant working for KP-MG in US. The girl was a student and they met in US only. The girl talked to her Dad and Dad invited the guy to go with his parents and seek his approval and have a chat with him. This guy thought of it as a done deal, his parents were open minded and accepting. When he showed up with his parents, the Muslim Dad said that I will kill my daughter and your son, even if it means I end up rest of my life in Jail. He later even calls up the guy and tells him that is my daughter really worth life of both his parents. Because if you don’t care for your own life I hope you at least don’t want to cremate both your parents within a week of your marriage. And everytime you see your wife, you must feel the guilt and pain how she and her love is resposible for death
