High Speed Braces is a marketing term used to promote the use of the fastest technologies used by dentists trained in this new style of care. There are a number of companies that make brackets and wires that greatly reduce treatment time, and the practitioner is able to choose which product type best suits his or her training. The term used for these new brackets is “self-ligating” and they do not use the little colored elastics used with traditional methods. The brackets come in assorted forms including metal, cosmetic procelain, or even lingual (placed on the inside of the teeth, and therefore hidden from sight). The lingual variety is generally slower than the types secured to the outside of the teeth.
