Are High School Standards Disproportional to Student Needs?
There seems to be some misconceptions and disconnect between the student and schools that they attend. Students just do not feel prepared enough for the years to come because high schools do not teach them what they really need to know and do not challenge them in the least. Some students even say that they would be willing to work harder if the schools decided to step up the curriculum. In every high school, there is some truth in that high school does not fully prepare students for college and challenging them. There are students who take regular classes and end up feeling like they learned nothing of importance. Even though these students decided not to take AP or honors courses, they should be challenged in away so that school is not a complete waste of their time. If the standards were raised for normal students, then the graduates from San Ramon would be better prepared for whatever endeavors they decide to pursue.
