Are High Performance cars better on petrol?

That would really depend on the high performance car in question. The 300ZX Fairlady is a 3000cc V6 Twinturbo. It will be a bit thirstier compared to other 3L V6s since it uses forced induction (rated at 274hp) but I think it will still do about 19-22 mpg ave. Provided you don’t thrash it. During city to highway driving the 300ZX would have the edge over cars with larger displacements since the rev range on both cars would be right around the same. But if the high performance car were to keep a consistent pace with the 300ZX on a track, the 300ZX would generally be revving harder and faster than the pursuing car. If you’ve seen an episode in TOPGEAR where they’ve gunned a Toyota Prius and used a BMW M3 (4L V8) to keep pace, you’d know what im talking about. The Prius did less miles to the gallon because it was going as fast as it possibly can (therefore, revving hard) while the BMW didn’t break a sweat keeping up. I hope this long answer helped.
