Are guesthouses a good idea?
Guest Houses are generally cheaper than Hotels but dont offer the same amount of facilities.
A hotel will normally have a bar or restaurant, whereas guest houses work on a room with breakfast basis.

The people running this site have not personally lived in guesthouses so we can’t offer very much information or opinions on the matter. Guesthouses are famous for being run down, dirty, loud and not very private. But some people have good experiences in guesthouses. Because each guesthouse has different people they all have their own atmosphere. You may have loud partiers who make a mess or people who mind their own business and never talk. Generally guesthouses are not meant to live in for long term.
