Are green cycle lights allowed to be used on the front of a bike?
What Argos told you about the need for lights on the bike at night is correct (white light at the front and a red light at the rear). From the way you have worded this it appears that the lights you bought are in a separate package and not attached to the bike. If the contents of the package are different to the description on the wrapper then Argos are in the wrong under the Trade Descriptions Act. However, the rider of the bike is responsible for making sure that it complies with the requirements of the law before taking it on the public highway.
