Are Grandee condensing boilers the most efficient available?
Some brands have claimed slightly higher efficiences on the Sedbuk database. However, we believe that Grandee boilers are the most efficient consistent with reliable operation and lower propensity to sooting. In laboratory tests it is possible, in relatively short duration testing, to squeeze out a nominal amount more heat. The trade off, in our opinion, greatly risks the prospect of sooting and unreliability. Our experience has demonstrated, ineluctably, that such overbaffling, especially where the design of the appliance is reliant upon very narrow or small diameter tubular passageways, is far more likely to cause problems in service than our patented Grandee method. Our directors have been involved in domestic oil boilers since 1962 – longer than most competitors have been in business.
