Are Grainfields Products Gluten Free?
The Grainfields Products are NOT gluten free. Most of the liquids test at about 5-10ppm whereas the National Standard for food products in Australia for “Gluten Free” is less than 5 ppm. However, all ingredients that contain gluten in our products are fermented with Lactobacillus bacteria until the ingredients are softened to a “pre-digested” state. We cannot verify that this allows use by gluten intolerant people, however there is evidence that lactobacillus bacteria has a softening effect on the gluten making it easier to metabolize.
