Are graduate assistantships available?
The College of Business Administration awards, on a competitive basis, a limited number of graduate assistantships. All students who have demonstrated distinguished academic performance may apply. All of the assistantships require students to work 20 hours per week at the main campus in Huntsville.
There are a limited number of assistantships available to Community Counseling students each year ranging from 10 to 20 hrs a week. Assistantships may be offered to a student through the HPC department or through a university wide department. For more information about graduate assistantships, visit the Graduate School website . To be considered for a graduate assistantship anywhere on campus, you must submit an application, to the graduate school, along with your most recent resume. You may also wish to submit a copy of your assistantship application to the HPC department as well. Yes, a limited number of Graduate Assistantships are available. Most assistantships are half-time assistantships which require 15 to 20 hours of work per week. A quarter-time assistant requires 7 ½ to 10 hours per week. For the 2007-2008 academic school year, qualified students may receive financial support in the form of a Graduate Assistantship (GA) or Board of Higher Education Scholarship. Graduate Assistantship stipends for two semesters are about $11,802 for half-time appointments and $5,901 for quarter-time appointments. GA appointments include a tuition waiver and health insurance. Assistantships are available in most departments offering a graduate degree.
Graduate, research and teaching assistantships are available at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Competition for these positions is very competitive.
