Are grade complaints handled differently?
Not really; most, if not all of the time they are handled internally within the Program. Usually, the student will be urged to resolve the issue with the teacher; if the student feels he or she cannot, or if he or she has already attempted to do this, then the teacher will be asked to meet with an Assistant Director. The teacher will be asked to bring to the meeting all of the evidence needed to explain the grade that was given; from there, the teacher and the Assistant Director will make a determination as to the best way to proceed. Once again, the more detailed and accurate the record-keeping, the more the Program can support the teacher in the process.
