Are Good Till Canceled (GTC) orders eligible for $0¹ online equity and ETF trades?

0

Yes, online orders placed as good till canceled (GTC) are eligible for $0¹ commissions. You should be aware, however, that trades are assigned commissions at execution based on eligibility and not at the time of entry of the order. For example, if you place a GTC order during a month in which you are eligible for $0¹ online equity and ETF trades, but the order executes 45 days later and you are no longer eligible at that time, you would be charged the normal commission for the trade. For orders that execute over multiple days, the $0¹ trade count would be counted for each day’s executed trade. For example, if you enter a GTC order that is executed over three different days, that trade would have used three of the 30 eligible $0¹ trades.
