Are Global Warming and Cooling Natural Cycles?
warming existed before humans influenced the cycle through increased emissions of greenhouse gases. Scientists have also done research in the Polar Regions to determine how the composition of the atmosphere determines the Earth’s temperature. The Polar Regions also serve as the early warning areas for future climate change. The main concern about the current trend of global warming is that it will not only cause known results such as a rise in sea level, but it will also have unknown results. In the past the world was a warmer place than it is now. There is fossil evidence that in the past warm-temperate forests have grown beyond the polar circles and warm-temperate seas extended as far as the poles themselves (Students On Ice, 29). One reason the world was warmer was due to the shortage of polar ice to reflect the warmth of the sun back into space. If the current trend of global warming continues causing polar ice to melt it is likely the planet will warm up even more without the ice
