Are Global Learner Programs rooted in humanitarian action projects?

0

CWY’s mission is to increase the ability of people, and especially youth, to participate actively in the development of just, harmonious, and sustainable societies. The Global Learner Program provides an opportunity for young people to learn first-hand that effective development and humanitarian action must be based on an understanding of and respect for diverse realities. As such, the focus of these programs is on experiential learning, not on humanitarian action. In keeping with our non-formal education model, participants engage as volunteers in community development projects where they live, work and learn with and through members of a host community. This framework serves as the backbone for our vision of creating active, engaged global citizens who share responsibility for the well-being of all people and the planet.
