Not necessarily. By that age group, the sizes aren’t supposed to exactly fit the child’s age; it can serve as a guide, however. Usually sizes are based on averages. She may be in the middle percentile of her weight, but generally speaking, she may not be when compared to other girls of her height. I’m not really sure about percentiles; I’ve never dealt with that before. Most stores who cater to children also make “in-between” sizes. Some sizes are like 10 1/2, 12 1/2, etc. Check out stores in your area for this. It seems like your daughter may need to switch over to junior sizes soon. In two years, size 16 in girls most likely will NOT fit her. Junior sizes go from 0 to around 15, odd sizes. I’m 5’7″ 110lbs and I wear sizes 3-7 in jeans. It just depends on the brand. I even have some jeans from 7th grade I can still wear. I switched over to juniors when I was probably 13 years old or so. However, I would NOT fit her in ladies clothes yet. I’m 20 years old and I can’t fit into a ladies
