Are Ghillie Suits Dangerous?
Although an excellent form of camouflage, the suits do have some disadvantages. First, they can be heavy ( 2-9lbs), they require some maintenance and can be a fire hazard. Generally, as a rule, ghillies are mainly used in cooler forest locals where there is less risk of the sniper or scout suffering from too much heat. Many of our suits use material like, jute, that can be flammable. These suits have spray-on fire retardant already applied and come with extra fire-retardant. It is recommended that you not smoke while wearing these suits. We have several non-flamable synthetic GhillieSuits now available, so if this is a concern consider that option. Disclaimer : We are not liable for any injuries that may occur from the wear or use of our products. Warning! Jute thread is flammable. Please avoid open flames, sparks, or other items that could ignite the material. Do not smoke while wearing your suit. All of our wearable jute and burlap products are sprayed with a Fire-retardant.
