Are german sheperd good dogs with kids?

It depends on the dog, they are very high energy however so your kids may have to worry about getting run over more than getting bit. I love shepherds even though I was bitten in the face as a kid and needed stitches in my face. Just was a bad dog. I have a rottie right now that is great with people, dogs and other kids but most people are afraid of them too. It all the dog, not the breed! Hope this helps. and also introduce your kids and other pets to the dog before you get it, that will help sort out its personality a little bit ahead of time.

It depends on how old your kids are and how old your dog is and it’s personality. If it is a puppy there should be no problems because it will be raised with the kids and it will be use to them. If it is an older dog that had a previous owner you need to talk to them about it. If you are adopting it from a shelter you can talk to them about it also. My friend has one and she has 3 kids and it is perfectly fine around them. It will let the kids crawl all over it and ride it like a pony and use him as a pillow. They are really good dogs. I am pretty sure her kids are 13, 8, and 4.

If you have kids i would recomand getting a gray hound over a German shepherd.

As a baby i was brought up with the most loving German Shepherd called Sally. It would depend on the dog ,My boys were brought up with a German shepherd as a companion. We could not live without dogs in the family, but there are always the risks involved with dogs and children choose wisely.
