Are Geothermal systems more expensive to install than traditional heating and cooling systems?
Initially, geothermal systems may cost more to install than ordinary combustion systems – in many cases not much more. But up-front costs are only a small part of the story when you consider the rising costs of all fuel, there really isn’t much of a choice. Factor in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over 5, 10 or 15 years, and it becomes a sound investment. In new construction, payback is 4-5 year – in retrofits as little as 7 years. Installing a geothermal system instead of even the most efficient boiler or furnace, is the sensible decision. As soon as you install a TOTAL GREEN Geothermal System, you no longer pay for oil, natural gas or propane….fuel bills cease. In most cases, this is a minimum of 15% return on investment.
