Are funds available for spousal support and/or childcare?
Yes, the dependants allowance for 2009-10 (which is discretionary) is 5,662 for a partner, 3,222 for the first child, and 1,099 for each subsequent child. Gates Cambridge Scholars may apply for these discretionary funds after they have been awarded a scholarship, either before they come to Cambridge or during their time at Cambridge.
