In South Carolina, funding for ABA programs has recently become available. BabyNet provides funds for ABA for children under the age of 3 with a diagnosis of autism. The Autism Division of South Carolina’s Disabilities and Special Needs Division has recently obtained funds for a Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) Waiver which provides funds for ABA services for children ages 3 through 10. There is a waiting list for these funds. The most exciting news is the South Carolina State Legislature recently passed into law a mandate that private insurance can no longer refuse payment for services for autism.
