Are fundamentalists of any persuasion dangerous?

My view is that yes, they are. Zealots are inclined to over-ride all arguments against their own belief systems, therefore they have closed minds. Only an open mind can remain impartial and considerate to others opinions. If we believe something to the exclusion of something else then we are disrespecting others beliefs. The big danger with fundamentalists is a basic lack of imagination and a necessarily authoritarian stance – can this really be healthy in the long run?
