Are free searches good enough?
Most free internet searches are not reliable. Online services that claim to do a thorough background check on your neighbors, friends, or employees aren’t as reliable as they claim; they can be outright illegal if not performed correctly. Free online searches are performed solely on database searches, as a result, inaccurate information may be given. A reported case may have been dismissed/dropped or even extradited to another place where a more serious crime occurred. Depending on the laws of your individual state, using a dismissed case against an applicant can be illegal.
