Are Fred Olson cruises old fashioned?
Fred Olsen are more of a traditional cruising line, with smaller ships then those of the larger lines. Fred Olsen cruises are what cruising used to be like, personal service, dressing for dinner, fixed meal sittings, and formal evenings. The age group tends to be older, 50+,with many of the passengers being avid Fred Olsen fans, having cruised with the company many times over the years. Their cruise ship are older type, traditional, cruise ships, they look like ships not floating, slab sided, hotels. You won’t find the gimmicks like flow riders and climbing walls but the entertainment is good and on a par with any of the major lines. Compared to many of the ships operating at the moment they would seem to be old fashioned but they have successfully carved their own niche in the cruise market as a traditional cruise line and have what appears to be a fanatical customer base.
