Are Fraser island dingoes really wild?
Yes, the island’s 160 or so dingoes are wild. They are hunters and natural scavengers, eating anything from insects to wallabies, hunting alone or in groups. Fraser’s dingoes are understood to be among the purest strain of dingo in eastern Australia, having rarely interbred with domestic dogs. This makes Fraser Island special for conserving the dingo species.
