The SELECT hinge does not require frame reinforcements, unless the frame or door is less than 16 gauge. A SELECT hinge applied to the full length of the door and frame reinforces the entire system. Frame reinforcements are placed behind the top cut-outs to support the fasteners used with knuckle hinges. These steel plates do not distribute the load.
