Are Forest Service roads open to the public?

0

Most National Forest roads are constructed and maintained for use by prudent drivers in high clearance vehicles (such as pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, and commercial trucks) as opposed to ordinary passenger cars. Speed of travel is not usually a consideration in design of “high clearance” roads. Different skills are needed to drive these roads than are needed to drive down the highway in the family sedan.
