Ohio law prohibits the use of most fireworks. There are three classifications of fireworks sold in Ohio and only the first classification is legal to use in Ohio • Trick or novelty items: 1.4G (consumer) fireworks; 1.3G (display/exhibit) fireworks. Only novelty item fireworks, such as sparklers, snakes, smoke-related items, and toy trick novelties can be purchased and used in Ohio.
