Definitely check with the HOA for the neighborhood. In ours, no fence is allowed in front, and only fences surrounding pools are allowed in back. Lots of our neighbors have dogs so they use the underground system where it shocks the dog if it goes over it. The dogs have free run of their huge yards, and yet we never have to worry that they’ll come over and bite us.
