Are female soldiers politically motivated?
I can only speak for myself. In respect of my army service, I was never politically motivated. I am extremely phsically fit, and my reactions are quick. As a soldier, I don’t think my gender has affected my performance, and I think occasionaly it has improved the performance of men serving with me. In general terms, most women have more stammina than most men. They may not be the best assault troops, but they are very good for the long haul. Women also seem to be better than most men at some of the finicky work involved in things like bomb disposal and mine dismantling, In the field too, some of their intelligence analysis work has proved faster and more accurate than that of their male peers. Todays warfare is not about traditional infantry formations fighting on clearly defined fronts. It’s a much more subtle affair, even when there is an identifiable front line. The skills and prowess of women complements that of men in such war, and if we are to win it, we must ditch the stereo-typ
