Fellows are considered Federal employees, with the rank of GS-14 step 3. With this comes a salary of approximately $100,000 per year. Military personnel, however, maintain their current salary and benefits. Fellows also are eligible to purchase health insurance through the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plans available at their agencies. Details about the health plans available can be viewed on the Office of Personnel Management website at http://www.opm.gov.
