Are Federal Pacific Panels really that unsafe?

The big problem with these panels is the breakers can fail to trip in response to overcurrent, leading to electrical fires. The breakers may also fail to shut off internally even if the toggle is switched to “off.” If I had one in my home I would make it a priority to change it out. There is a ton of information on the internet about these panels. Do some research and you too will wonder why more people are not changing them out. Many times people look at the panel and say Hey it looks new and I have never had a problem with it, why should I spend the money to change it out.

What is your question?
