Are Family Members Allowed To Take Personal Property Of An Elderly Person In A Nursing Home?

No, not to take it as their own. If the senior’s home had to be sold, then a family member should be designated (hopefully with a power of attorney) to store/dispose of the senior’s property as the senior directs. But, just because someone is in a nursing home does not mean their property is up for grabs.
