Three letters of recommendation and a personal statement are required and they are an important component of the application.  Letters of recommendation should be provided by individuals who can assess the applicant’s ability to successfully engage in graduate studies.  Letters should be sent directly to the department.  Two of the three recommendation letters must be from academic instructors.

Letters of recommendation should be provided by individuals who can assess the applicant’s ability to successfully engage in graduate studies. Letters should be sent directly according to the new MSU CSD online system’s instructions (launching the week of September 20, 2010). Two of the three recommendation letters must be from academic instructors.
