Are expensive salon hair products really better quality than drugstore brands?
–Deb, Regina Hi Deb, In my experience, I have never found a full proof correlation between strength and quality of a product based on price. In a lot of instances the product price is based on how the product is perceived within the beauty market and the distribution channel it is sold. For some products, price is based on the nature of the active ingredients, whether they are specially formulated or derived from distant lands. At the end of the day, purchasing decisions come down to personal preference and budget. Personally, I like some products from salons and some drugstore brands. I use a combination of both. In almost all cases you can find a cheaper drugstore brand that will be equal quality if not better than a professional brand. Most large beauty companies have specific brands in both salons and drugstores.
