Are exotic pets better than non-exotic pets?
That depends on what you mean by ‘better’. Exotic pets do not have better underlying base stats than non-exotic pets, and they use the same talent trees as non-exotic pets. So from that angle, they are not inherently better. However, there is a difference in their design philosophy, if you will, in terms of skills. Family skills for exotic pet families tend to have unique effects, or to combine effects from non-exotic family skills. For example, the exotic Silithid family comes with the Venom Web Spray skill, which combines the effect of Web with a DoT effect. And the exotic Rhino skill Stampede involves a unique (and highly amusing) knockback effect.
