Are existing root canal treated teeth a health risk and should they be extracted?
At the present time, we don’t feel there is enough solid evidence to provide a clear-cut answer. There are so many factors to consider that, should this question arise, we choose to advise on an individual basis. In general, we do not recommend the removal of root canal treated teeth unless there are obvious signs of infection present.
