Are Evangelicals and Mainstream Christianity the Same?

0

In my opinion, the term “mainstream” is pretty much synonymous with the term “traditional,” and describes those Christians who are either Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox or Protestant. I see “evangelical” Christianity as being a part of mainstream Christianity that actively proselytizes. For the most part, they are more right-wing in their viewpoints than are the the rest of mainstream Christianity. I could be wrong, but I think that most evangelicals would describe themselves as either Baptist or non-denominational.
