Are european gold finches good pets?
European Goldfinches make great pets. They sing beautifully, almost like a canary. They need plenty of room to fly, so have a large cage or aviary set up for them. It’s good to keep them with other European Goldfinches because they have a pushy nature (if you want to add more finches later on). They are very hardy birds. Males have a stronger song and more red on their head than females. Feed them plenty of green veggies, including dandelions, for good health. Place some toys in the cage, like a swing, because they enjoy playing. You’ll enjoy their song and antics.
