Are ethics and values emphasized?
Ethics and values are taught and experienced daily at Community Day. Jewish values are emphasized and taught throughout the day. The Heartwood Curriculum is a literature-based ethics curriculum which reinforces moral and ethical development. Community service, tzedakah, and g’milut chasadim (charity and kind acts) are integral parts of our secular and Judaic programs. Students conduct food drives for the kosher food pantry, collect Chanukah toys for needy children, and perform at local nursing homes among other activities.
