Are English Bull Terriers Always Black And White?
Although some English bull terriers are red, fawn and tricolor, the most accepted colours still remain black and white. In the UK show ring, white is the only universally accepted “true” color and all other colors (does not include markings on the head) are considered highly undesirable. It is very easy to groom a Bull Terrier as it has a short, dense coat. Just a light combing and brushing once in a while will do the trick. They shed twice a year and you need to use a special rubber glove to remove loose hair. Originally these dogs were bred for fighting purposes, but over the years through successful breeding and training, the Bull Terrier has mellowed and is now considered very affectionate and a good companion. They are friendly dogs, very strong and extremely intelligent. They can be very stubborn and need a firm yet gentle hand. They are not ideally suited for people who have not had dogs before.
