Are employers responsible for withholding the fees retroactive to the July 1, 2003 effective date?
A. No. This requirement becomes effective when the employer receives official notification from the state. A mass mailer is being sent to employers who currently withhold for child support by mid-October. Employers who are already collecting the $2.00 fee are asked to hold that until they receive notification where to send it.
