Are employees under the age of 18 required to undergo the CHRC process?
A. Yes, although juvenile criminal records are not available for non-criminal justice purposes, the State Bureau of Identification will report if the juvenile is listed on the sexual offender’s list or if the juvenile is charged as an adult. Juveniles may obtain working papers at age 14 years. However, if the juvenile will be working in a paid position at the school that s/he attends, fingerprinting would not be required. The juvenile has the legal authority to attend school.
