Are electronic toys good for babies?
This is a good question and something that has been debated and studied a lot. For a lot of parents, it can be concerning how much interest your kids show in electronic toys. When my little one was younger, he’d often cry to play with my smartphone, instead of the hundreds of age-appropriate toys in his playroom.
In terms of education, electronic toys aren’t necessarily more educational than regular classic toys such as stuffed animals. Studies like the one discussed in the article linked here from The Toy Report showed that electronic toys caused youngsters to be less vocal when playing than other toys.
However, this is just one study and there can be benefits to kids playing with electric toys. In my personal opinion, when children are a young variety of interactions is good for development. So you don’t necessarily need to steer clear of electronics, as long as your child also plays in other ways.
