Are “EDL” or time-code pointers automatically created within the high-resolution system so as to provide high-resolution viewing of the finished low-resolution video composition?
In the NewsFlow solution, the proxy edits are non-volatile and the original media is never changed or affected. When performing a new edit from the original media, the new edit (new event) simply provides new TC pointers to the original event. This function reduces unnecessary duplication of content and hence minimizes the need for storage when re-purposing material. Since the central database records are updated instantly upon saving an event, all new events with respective edit points and metadata are immediately available for high-resolution playout on any Apella server playout channel. However, users can extract real media from any Event in the database by utilizing the MAKE CLIP function in the Apella. This process will create a new audio and video file based on the trim points of the selected Event.
