Are Earths magnetic poles presently upsidedown?
Your basic premise is flawed. Actually, the magnetic field flows *in* at the geographic North Pole and *out* at the geographic South Pole. Still, we can talk about it. Obviously it’s not a matter of “perspective,” because everyone on Earth with half a brain and a teaspoon of geography and scientific knowledge has agreed on which way “north” is for centuries. Even people in the Southern Hemisphere. Which brings us to the problem. We identify magnetic north with the North Pole. However, if the North Pole were actually magnetic north, our north-pointed compasses would actually flip around so that south pointed to the North Pole, because opposites attract (or look at it the other way, north would be repelled). Thus, while we have identified the geographic north pole, the magnetic pole at geographic north is, yes, actually the magnetic south pole.
