Are dynamos the same as alternating current generators?

0

As a generator engineering repair specialist for the United States Marine corps i think i can answer this question. Dynamos produce direct current, and most Generators produce alternate current. They are similar but not exactly the same.

The dynamos are old terms for DC generators…it is not the same as AC generators. AC generators produce alternating current like the current we use at home while DC generator produce direct current like the current in the batteries.
