Are Dual Shock 2 controllers compatible with the PlayStation 3?
Not without some sort of adapter. Sony is no longer using the old controller ports and connectors, so the Dual Shock 2 isn’t able to be plugged in directly. However, through use of a PS2 to USB adapter, you can use a Dual Shock 2 on the PlayStation 3 with little to no problem. It lacks the PlayStation button and tilt support, but otherwise it works fine.
