Are drinking water and shower filter units still necessary with a whole house filter?
The shower system is not needed, as the shower filter and whole house filter reduce the same contaminants. However, we still recommend the use of the drinking water filter because it reduces additional contaminants (such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium) that the whole house filter does not reduce. In addition, the drinking water filter will reduce lead and other contaminants that are introduced from the homes plumbing after water goes through the whole house filter.
