Onychomycosis is the condition we see most commonly in practice. Despite all of this time that we have spent talking about onychomycosis and how much time you have spent listening to onychomycosis talks, the fact of the matter is we are still not effectively treating it. Eight or nine years ago, when terbinafine first came out, a multi-speaker program was put together called “Onychomycosis: A New Practice Paradigm.” We spoke at meetings all over the country, talking about the need to stop just cutting toenails, the need to stop debriding toenails and the importance of actually treating this condition medically because this is an infection that needs to be treated.
