Are dogs allowed in city parks?
Dogs are allowed on leash at Verde Park, Mira Costa Park and on all city hiking trails. Dogs are not allowed in any other parks. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs. Phase I of the San Clemente Dog Park, recently opened, and is a off-leash park. Hours are from dawn to dusk. The park is located at 301 Ave. La Pata.

Dogs are prohibited from the three designated swimming beaches and their adjacent picnic areas at North Beach, Leddy and Oakledge Parks. There are fenced off-leash dog areas maintained at Starr Farm Park and along the waterfront in the Urban Reserve north of the Moran Plant.
